The 53-storey tower included the 4.5 star luxury Dorsett Hotel as well as residential apartments known as The Star Residences. The inclusion of retail space made it the first mixed used precinct on Broadbeach Island. The aim was to minimise disruption to ensure The Star Gold Coast remained fully operational during the construction of the new tower.

The Dorset hotel comprises 316 premium rooms, with the upper levels of the tower housing 423 one and two-bedroom residential apartments ranging in size from 54m2 to 109m2.

The tower’s open design took advantage of the Gold Coast’s greatest natural resource — the weather. Suites are flooded with natural light through glass walls and private outdoor balconies. The hotel’s recreational podium deck is designed to highlight the beauty of the surrounding area, featuring views of the ocean, lush green hinterlands and the lights of the city. The deck treats guests to a range of amenities including a pool, gym and other recreational facilities.
