Description
The Turtle Sands resort redevelopment located near a globally significant turtle nesting sites at Mon Repos, was a conservation led eco-tourism project that prioritized eco-friendly amenities and accessibility. The new resort had to meet very strict and specific conservation requirements while providing a modern experience for visitors. The design included 7,800 sqm of internal roads and 1,300 sqm of walkways, which needed to be made of permeable materials, due to being near a globally significant Loggerhead Turtle nesting beach and a Wetland Protection Area.
Stage 1 of the project comprised of 115 of the park’s 127 sites, featuring the latest in upmarket villas, cabins, tent sites, studio apartments, and a turtle shaped pool. Stage 2 added a large bunkhouse for groups and tour operators, a pool lounge, and communal event area. Epic Vision Project Management supported the delivery of this unique, environmentally sensitive project balancing tourism, sustainability and commercial viability.
